About Reddy Press

Reddy Press Inc. is an independent book press founded by Dr. Beto Gutierrez, a veteran High School Teacher and College Professor who saw the need to produce material for historically marginalized communities.

The press is named after Reddy, a rescue dog who built relationships wherever he went.  When rescued, Reddy had been returned to the shelter twice. The experience of rescuing Reddy eventually became life altering with tons of adventures. The name Reddy is a play on words, honoring Malcom X whose nickname was Detroit Red.

In Reddy's honor, Reddy Press Inc. will publish books based on life experiences that are frequently overlooked by mainstream outlets. To kick off the grand opening of Reddy Press Inc., two coloring books highlighting the Mexican sports of Charreadas and Escaramuzas will be its first publications. Several other culturally relevant coloring books are in production, stay tuned.
